Doula Services
Culturally aligned and high-quality care for all
Our doulas serve a wide range of clients, including people going through high-risk or difficult pregnancies.
Birth doulas support people throughout any stage of pregnancy and assist them in realizing their chosen birthing plans. Postpartum doulas assist people with people who have just given birth. Because our doulas are trained in the full reproductive spectrum, we are able to provide doulas to support people through a range of reproductive health choices or situations such as abortion, adoption, birth and postpartum, miscarriage, stillbirth, and grief support.
Our Community Doula Program - where we match clients with community-based doulas - is structured to address the misinformation of fear-based care through community childbirth education. This client education goes beyond physical monitoring to 1) create community connection with supplementary supportive resources lacking in obstetrics-based care and 2) to empower families the tools they need to make informed decisions and advocate for themselves. We also offer monthly childbirth education classes that are open to our doula clients as well as community members to support this goal.
Antepartum Doula
Specializing in supporting pregnant people going through a high-risk or difficult pregnancy. We support our clients in a number of ways. If a pregnant person is on bed rest, an antepartum doula can help much like a postpartum doula helps a new parent – cooking meals, light housework, helping the mother organize things for the new baby, navigating culturally appropriate resources, attending appointments and, most importantly, providing emotional and informational support, and advocacy.
Birth Doula
Ancient Song birth doulas offer support throughout pregnancy. So, whether you are 14 weeks or 37 weeks we can assist you on your path to the birth you want. By offering emotional and physical support, counseling, information to make informed decisions, advocacy, and non-judgemental support.
We specialize in high risk pregnancies, VBAC's, Sexual Abuse/Trauma, and more. Embracing the whole and not just the parts to offer you the support you need to birth as you choose.
Postpartum Doula
ASDS postpartum doulas are here to assist you with self care options, healing from c-section, traumatic birth, light housework, light meals, newborn care, sleep habits, infant feeding issues and solutions, nutritional guidance, and a comforting ear as you transition into parenthood.
Abortion & Loss
ASDS Doula offers non-judgmental support throughout your reproductive health choices. Our doulas are trained to offer culturally humble care and resources to affirm you through your healthcare. We can attend appointments and offer aftercare as necessary in home.
